Current information / Coronavirus

According to the current legal situation, an opening of our houses is possible depending on the local seven-day incidence.

The Imperial Castle is open at present. No reservation is required.

Please take into account waiting times and restrictions such as altered routes or room closures.

Group visits and guided tours are unfortunately not possible at the moment. Audio guides and media stations are currently not available in the museum.

The Deep Well and the Sinwell Tower must unfortunately remain closed until further notice.

The official hygiene and conduct rules of course apply for visits to all the sights and notices will be posted in each place as a reminder.

Opening hours

April to 4 October: daily 9 am-6 pm
5 October to March: daily 10 am-4 pm
last entry: 30 minutes before the stated closing time

Public holidays: The Imperial Castle is only closed on 1 January, Shrove Tuesday, 24 / 25 / 31 December

Castle Gardens
April to October: from 8 am at the earliest until nightfall (8 pm at the latest)
closed November-March

Maria Sibylla Merian Garden
Every Sunday and Monday as follows:
April-September: 2 pm-6 pm / October: 2 pm-4 pm
closed November-March


Guided tours

In the Palas and the Imperial Castle Museum there are no guided tours; visitors can go around on their own.
